Whether your home or workplace is stripped down to the bare studs or whether we’re adding on to the existing structure, you will not be disappointed with the end result!

:: WHAT TO DO FIRST ::
Step 1 – E.R. Services –
You will want to take the necessary actions to secure and protect all real and personal property. This may include boarding up of doors and windows, the addition of temporary shoring to damaged areas, or the covering of the roof to prevent further damage from the elements. If necessary, water extraction and drying of the home will need to take place as well.

Step 2 – Planning –
Next you will want to obtain documentation relating to your insurance policy to determine coverage and limits of liability as well as open a claim. Find a qualified contractor that will be able to guide you through all aspects of the restoration process.

Step 3 – Estimating –
Estimating and obtaining a settlement is perhaps the most crucial part of the restoration process. It is imperative that the contractor you choose be knowledgeable and able to represent your interests (and only your interests). Using the same industry-leading claims estimating software used by the insurance company, we can achieve this goal for you.

Step 4 – Execution –
Once the settlement has been completed, it’s time to get to work. We can plan out your space and help you visualize the end results by using our CAD and 3D modeling software. Our attention to detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled.

:: Dry outs ::
We understand the disruption that can occur after a water damage in your home or building and will work hard to minimize the interruption in your life. Should you have the need for a dry-out following a water damage, our teams are fully equipped and trained to handle any loss, regardless of size.

Let us take this first, step in restoring your property. Did you know that wood must dry out to 13% moisture before your property can be repaired? You can rely on Stud Construction, we have the equipment and the know-how to dry out your property, a procedure which is not as easy as it seems.

:: What Causes Water Damage ::
Water damage can result from a number of things. It can be caused by broken pipes, a faulty sewer system, defective plumbing, etc. When first returning to a flooded home, there may be threats to life and health so be sure to take steps to protect yourself. It is important that a professional company like Stud Construction is on-site to evaluate whether or not your home or building is structurally sound. Our job is to minimize any resulting damage by restoring your contents and structure as soon as possible.

First and foremost, consult with Stud Construction to determine whether our team can pack-up all of your belongings for you. While our team is rehabilitating your property, there are a few things that you can do to begin restoring your wet contents if your home is structurally sound:
– Turn off circuit breakers powering flooded areas and unplug any small appliances or electrical devices.
– If you have respiratory problems, make plans to leave the house once STUD Construction arrives.
– If a camera is handy, take pictures of the damage.
– Remove and secure fragile and valuable items.
– Be very careful when entering any area with standing water or wet surfaces.
– Do Not attempt to vacuum anything or try to dry the carpeting.
– Do Not turn on A/C or heating as it could spread contamination.
– Do Not cut any drywall as it could contain dangerous materials.

Hundreds of thousands of residential and commercial fires are reported each year in California. The damage which results from these fires is often more than that which is physically burned. Our team has the knowledge, expertise, and technique to identify the extent of the damage and return your property to pre-loss condition or better.

:: WHAT HAPPENS NOW ::
Board Ups – Stud Construction can effectively and efficiently secure your building or structure after fires, break-ins, vandalism, or motor vehicle impact damages. Such damaged buildings can pose an immediate threat to those in and around the building. Our team will securely board up broken windows and doors, cover damaged roofs to prevent further losses from the elements, or shore up structures to ensure safety and structural integrity.

The building must be secured before you re-enter after a fire. There must first be an inspection by your local fire chief and a company like Stud Construction. This inspection will determine how soon you can return to the building and whether the fire has caused life-threatening situations.

:: WHAT TO DO NEXT ::
Here are some things that you can do before entering the building. Safety is of the utmost importance – be sure to assess the area to see if there is a need for protective gear. Also, make sure that the power and gas is turned off before entering the building. You should also open doors and windows for ventilation. All clothing and contents can be removed and deodorized. Do not attempt to wash porous surfaces, ceilings, or walls; you can, however, brush smoke particles from furnishings and draperies.

If you use Stud Construction during this early phase, you can minimize most of the smoke and fire damage and reduce your losses. We will work directly with your insurance adjuster to obtain a detailed scope of repair and make sure all of your bases are covered. Because we do not work for your insurance company you can rest assured that we have only your best interest in mind.

– Once you are back on the premises, check your insurance policy and then contact a remediation company.
– Open all windows to vent smoke and start the drying process.
– Discard any/all food items exposed to fire or smoke.
– If smoke has reached living areas, plan on moving out temporarily (check your policy for Out Of Home Living Provisions).
– Take pictures if a camera or recording device is available.
– Don’t try cleaning yourself. Do not vacuum, touch the walls, or remove drapes as ash and soot can contain dangerous chemicals that are extremely hazardous to your health.
– Don’t remove ash or water from carpets and floors. It is not only hazardous but in most cases, carpets will need to be replaced.
– Don’t try to deodorize. Store-bought or commercial deodorizing products may offset professional formulas that break up smoke molecules and eliminate odors.

At Stud Construction we don’t limit ourselves to the disaster restoration market. We can also handle all of your other construction needs. If you’re looking to remodel a kitchen, bathroom, add square footage to your home, or just simply want to start from scratch with a custom home build, look no further.
